They say that some folks actually fear speaking in public more than they fear death itself. I am guessing they might change their mind about that if they actually had to make the choice. But I get it ... most people experience a good deal of anxiety when speaking in public, or doing anything in public for that matter. I would contend that all people feel it, but some just won't admit that they do. So why is it that some people make it look easy and for others it can almost paralyze them? The answer to that is actually more simple than most people realize. It really boils down to whether or not we have programmed our cerebral cortex to compensate for, or neutralize, powerful signals eminating from the amygdala. Got that? The good news is that it is merely a programming issue, one that can easily be rectified with a bit of strategy and some good old-fashioned practice. The following tapes outline this strategy.
Performance Anxiety 1 – The Problem
Performance Anxiety 2 – The Amygdala
Performance Anxiety 3 – Exceeding the Threshold
Performance Anxiety 4 – Building Anxiety
Performance Anxiety 5 – The Properties of Thought
Performance Anxiety 6 – Audio/Visual Infusion
Performance Anxiety 7 – The Cognitive ‘Selfie’
